Kyla Ernst-Alper

I began my dance career at the age of 16 with Eliot Feld's Ballet Tech and since then have added martial arts, aerial, and contortion to my arsenal of physical skills. I have performed in England, France, Germany, Italy, Hungary, Poland, Morocco, Tunisia, Jordan, Mexico, South Korea, and the United Arab Emirates. I currently perform with several different companies/choreographers and also create and perform my own work.
I began my production career on independent film sets and marketing videos and currently work as a freelance producer and editor of television, internet, and commercial programming. I produce video and photo content for education startup Tinkergarten.
I am co-owner and director of the ground program at Brooklyn AirSpace, an aerial, dance, and circus training facility in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
I create videos, site-specific multi-media installations, and transmedia projects, including Under One Dances - an ongoing project highlighting professional dancers in a series of 1-minute or less dance videos. With my collaborator Maxx Passion I produce interactive dance projects #TweetDance and The Process.
I have a blog about my home and neighborhood called Witkem House
